Elegant Women of Color Have No Fear

I experimented  for many months and years trying to find the perfect combination of make up that would make  my ebony skin look its best. It was also a problem for me to find the perfect make up without having to spend an excess amount of money. After many trails and errors I feel like I found my affordable match. 

Let me describe my skin:

- slightly oily on my t-zone ( forehead, nose and chin ) 

- not particularly oily anywhere else

- couple of acne scars mainly on my cheeks 

-pores are not typically large, but they are larger around the cheeks

My main problem when it came down to picking a foundation was the aftermath. Usually when I would wear make up a couple of hours later my skin would be very oily and shiny. Not Okay! So on to the next product it would be. I finally settled on these products...

Maybelline Dream Mouse Foundation- This has provided great medium coverage and is very light. My favorite foundation and its a great price

Maybelline BB Dream Fresh - Extremely light coverage, its practically sheer. Works wonderful for days in which you do not want to wear much make- up. I have noticed a reduction of scars so I say the BB cream is a  plus! It also has sunscreen, another positive.

Studio Fix MAC- Nice topical powder, really helps to prevent shine and sets foundation great

Elf Eyelid Primer - Being of color, eye shadow at times don't show up as vibrant as I would like. This eyelid primer keeps the eye shadow on all day and very alive

Sally Hansen Air Brushed Legs is a product I found and can't live without!

It brings your legs to life! If you want to add a little sparkle to your skin and create an overall  flawless glow, I truly recommend this. Women of color choose the deep glow option. This "leg makeup" has vitamin E so it can reduce the appearance of  scars, it is also waterproof and has a very natural sparkle to it when you are out in the sun. 

Having a very natural and sophisticated face is always a part of depicting an elegant demeanor. Nothing is worse than having make up that makes you look like a clown or a ghost. Every skin type is different. It took me many months to find a combination that I liked and was within a college students budget !

An Everlasting Aroma

Aside from the way you may smell, many individuals may want their things to smell nice. Who wouldn't like taking their gym shoes out of their gym bag and it smelling like heaven? Or having friends and families enter your abode and having it smell naturally pleasant?

I do indeed love those compliments and I'm pretty sure you do too!

The trick is anything that can retain a scent spray it ! Don't go crazy with such a power but occasionally spray the bedding, pillows, curtains, closet etc. about once a week. Air fresheners are temporary fixes and work great but the ultimate trick is to use EGYPTIAN COTTON !

This is in my opinion the scent that lasts the longest and has the most admired responses. I've tried lavender , vanilla, and even clean linen but this scent left me the most compliments. 

You can find Egyptian Cotton linen spray anywhere. My particular bottle is from Bed Bath and Beyond. 

I use it in my room about once a week and it is very enticing. 

It doesn't irritate my nose or skin.

Another trick to gaining a pleasant scented house particularly bath room is the use of essential oils, or aromatherapy.

Get a drop of your favorite essential oil, mine is chamomile, and place it inside your toilet paper roll. Not the actual toilet paper but  inside the cardboard part. This is a very clandestine and natural way to make your bathroom smell great! 

A Woman Who Wears No Perfume has No Future

I've always been known to have a keen sense of smell. I can identify even the faintest of scents, such a talent has led to the want to create the most unique and complex scent without having to spend excess amounts of money. 

I have indeed created my signature scent that  is sweet, feminine, warm  and I must say loved by many!

It is combination of the following perfumes and body sprays.

PINK Warm and Cozy - Victoria's Secret 

2 Sprays of each scent in strategic places will create an over all sweet approachable aroma. Be careful to not over do it, you do not want to smell like cotton candy!

In result you will have created a unique complex scent that has dynamic features. No one will be able to pinpoint and it lasts ALL DAY. Even after laundry I can still smell the faint scent of this wonderful concoction. This is my daily scent. 

If sweet is not your flare then another scent that is lauded by all that come near my presences is D &G Light Blue.

I received it as a gift once and immediately fell in love. It is light, breezy and in my opinion has a slight cottony/ clean linen hint to it. It is one of the worlds most desired scents and I certainly see why. The only down fall is that it is VERY recognizable. I have not smelt anything like it and thus its easy to pinpoint. Anytime someone wears this scent, I know immediately.
